About The McAllenite

The McAllenite is a McAllen-based website dedicated to Rio Grande Valley alternative music, although all genres are welcome. It includes album reviews, weekly song roundups, feature news stories, a podcast, and yearly best-of articles. The site was created on April 11, 2019 and initially named Raymus Media. We aim to give press coverage and a critical lens for the local scene, as well as document and preserve our artistic history. Please support the music artists and thank you for reading.
